Stafford Round Table

Two of our team are active members of this organisation which raises thousands each year for local charities and causes.

Round Table are the largest voluntary organisation for young men in the world.  Artistic licence - can we use the term ‘young men’.  Providing you are a bloke and between the ages of 18 and 45, you can be a member.

Initially founded in Norwich in 1927 by a group of young businessmen of the town, the purpose of the group was to get together, have a bit of fun, and at the same time contribute to their town and its people. Round Table has now spread not only throughout Britain, but also across the globe.

Stafford and District Round Table currently has a membership of 13.  They meet on the second and last Thursday of each month.  The group comes from a wide background; from solicitors to architects and electricians to computer geeks.  It’s a great chance to meet up and have a laugh with a diverse bunch of chaps all with the main aim of doing some good for local charities and good causes.  Whilst the majority of their social calendar is fun activities there a number of charitable events that hold with the sole purpose of raising lots of money for local good causes and charities.  Their main charitable events include the Charity Bonfire and Fireworks Display at Shugborough, a Comedy Night at The Gatehouse Theatre and lastly a Beer Festival.

Stafford Round Table invite local good causes and charities to apply.  Every September they have a Charity Night where the cheques are handed out.  Over the last 5 years they have donated over £70,000, all from their own fundraising.  A great feel-good factor all round.

Fancy helping others whilst having great fun and having new experiences?  Get in touch.  They are waiting for you!
