Save the UK's Charities - Pickering & Butters take on The 2.6 Challenge!

We are extremely proud to support Katharine House Hospice and we are always eager to support the Hospice in their endeavours to raise funds. Our colleagues will therefore be taking part in The 2.6 Challenge!

Keep an eye on our website and social media to see what challenges we take on to help raise funds!

What is The 2.6 Challenge?

Katharine House Hospice like so many charities across the UK, has been hugely impacted by the cancellation of thousands of fundraising events due to covid-19. In response, the organisers of the biggest mass participation sports events across the country have come together to create a new campaign to raise vital funds to help save the UK’s charities.

The campaign, The 2.6 Challenge, will launch on Sunday 26th April 2020 – what should have been the date of the 40th London Marathon, the world’s biggest one day annual fundraising event, which raised £66.4 million for charities in 2019.  The challenge will last for a week. The 2.6 Challenge is open to anyone of any age – the only requirement is that the activity must follow the Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing and remember to stay local.

You could complete 2.6 miles or km per day by running walking, skipping, riding, scooting, hopping in your garden!. You could toss a 26 pancake 26 times, kick 26 balls against a wall, bake 26 cakes, play 26 board games, live streaming for 26 hours, gaming for 26 hours, whatever you fancy! It doesn't need to be a marathon challenge, just do it YOUR way!
