Stafford and Rugeley based firm, Pickering & Butters Solicitors are delighted to launch a new initiative with the Signposts charity to offer a free legal advice clinic for the residents of Stone and its surrounding area.
Signposts has centres in Stone and Stafford and has provided invaluable support to the local community since August 2011. Pickering and Butters are proud to work with Signposts in order to offer quality legal advice at a local venue free of charge.
Amy Bedford, Head of the Family Law Team at the firm said, “We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to work with such a fantastic local charity. Pickering & Butters are a firm committed to giving back to our local community. Unfortunately, this time of year is known for family fall outs and so starting the service now may be a good time for local residents.”
Karen Wardell, Signposts Stone Manager confirmed the advice clinic will open as of 2nd February 2015 and will be run initially on the first Monday of each month between 9.30am and 12noon. There are appointments available at 9.30am and 10am and a walk in service between 10.30 and 12noon. She commented, “Offering the free legal advice service is a great new venture for the Centre and we are looking forward to working with Pickering & Butters to further help the local community.”
The Legal Advice Clinic will offer assistance to anybody seeking professional and confidential legal advice from all walks of the community. The advisors at the centre will predominantly offer Family Law advice such as divorce and financial matters, children disputes, domestic abuse and violence, prenuptial agreements, separation deed and cohabitee disputes. However, local residents seeking advice on any other area of law including personal injury, neighbour disputes, wills and probate, Court of Protection matters, Powers of Attorney, moving house or company law are encouraged to contact the Centre for free advice by telephone.
